TABERNAS IS WESTERN – pack 3 DAYS

Equestrian activity designed for experienced riders who are comfortable with the three gaits: walk, trot and gallop. 

The itinerary consists of two rides totalling between 45 and 50 km spread over two days of riding. The first ride is between 28 and 30 km and the second around 20 km. Along the way, you will pass through landscapes of great geological, natural and cinematographic value, where characters such as ‘Indiana Jones’, ‘The Blond Guy’ and the ‘Dothraki’ have lived out their adventures.

The Tabernas Desert is considered the only true desert in Europe due to its arid characteristics. Its appearance and physiognomy are remarkably similar to those of the American deserts of Arizona, California, New Mexico and Nevada, which is why more than half of Europe’s Western film production took place in this region. The Tabernas Desert is the  European Hollywood in all its essence. We offer our riders the chance to experience an adventure on horseback in these incredible and unique places. 

THE ITINERARY CONSISTS OF:

DAY 1: Arrival at the ranch by your own means. Accommodation at the ranch. Dinner not included (recommendations will be made). Contact with instructor and assigned horse. You can use the kitchen at the lodge.

DAY 2: Breakfast and start of the first route. Throughout the day, you will ride through the different landscapes of the Tabernas Desert, with some brief stops for the guide’s explanations and to take photographs. In these landscapes, you will discover various geological formations of great value, visit natural scenery and one of the western villages, which are still available for filming and visits. Time for shows, sightseeing and lunch and then the route is resumed. On this day, the route is a round trip, with adjacent sections that allow you to enjoy both relevant areas and the 3 gaits of the horse.

DAY 3: Breakfast and start of the second route on horseback. Circular route around the village of Tabernas, passing through the unique landscapes of this region. End of the route at the ranch. Departure from the accommodation. Voucher for tapas in Tabernas. 

ACCOMMODATION:

Accommodation is in the ‘Posada del Rancho’. The Posada has 6 rooms, a full kitchen, two bathrooms/showers and a terrace with views of the Tabernas Desert. The kitchen, bathrooms and terrace are shared. Cleaning of the common areas 3 times a day. Room service: once a week.

INCLUDED IN THE 2 DAY PACK: 2 nights accommodation with breakfast included, guide-instructor, insurance, horses with saddle (western or English) and saddlebags, visit to the western village with lunch on the first day, lunch on the second day: tapas.

NOT INCLUDED:

Personal insurance for each rider: in terms of insurance, the company’s insurance includes the compulsory wearing of a helmet. If the rider comes with his/her own horse and/or does not accept the compulsory protection, he/she must sign a liability waiver from the company providing the services (Malcaminos), certifying that it has its own insurance to cover any accident that may occur to the rider and the horse(s) accompanying him/her (if it is the case).
